Bandham

Overview

Bandham is a quiet look into an old age home in Vijayawada, where 48 grandmothers and one blind grandfather live together and slowly rebuild a sense of belonging. What appears at first to be a place of separation becomes a space filled with warmth. There is laughter over evening tea, stories that return again and again, small disagreements, and the comfort of simply sitting beside someone who understands silence.

The home is run by Dr. Kirti, whose care shapes the rhythm of the place. Each person carries memories, loss, humour, and resilience, and the film spends time with these everyday fragments. It does not chase drama. Instead, it stays with gestures and glances, voices drifting through hallways, and moments where time feels soft and unhurried.

Bandham, meaning “bond,” is a reminder that even when life becomes quieter, the desire to feel connected remains strong. It is a film about companionship, dignity, and the gentle ties that hold people together.
